Today I bring you something new to me via MoYou London. Stamping!

The quality of the MoYou stamping plates is unreal. They look like little works of art, really sturdy little artworks. The plate feels solid and is backed by white plastic to give you something to hold on to when cleaning etc.

The little envelope that each plate comes in features instructions on the back, and is an excellent place to keep your plate when not in use to prevent scratches and any other potential damage. Now it seems obvious, but don't forget to take the blue plastic off before stamping!

The eagle-eyed amongst you will spot that the plate I'm featuring is Kitty Collection 11 (oddly enough the only one that actually features any cats...). The plates themselves run at £4.99 per plate, and I'd say give the quality and detail of each plate they're well worth the price. I perhaps should have started with a more pattern based plate as a beginner, as trying to get the images straight and centred was incredibly difficult. I'd also highly recommend the XL plates for anyone just starting out stamping, as they're easier to line up with your nail.

I also really should have gone will the round stamper instead of this rectangular one. The edges of my stamping don't quite catch right and I've been ending up with bits missing! As they say, hindsight is 20/20. The stamper is lovely and squishy and a pleasure to use when it goes right. I do wish the scraper was a little bigger. It was a bit of a nightmare scurrying around with the tiny scraper trying to cover a full size image whilst the polish is drying.

On the subject of polish I've learned that you can't stamp with every thing. Matte polishes and anything with glitter (except microglitter), do not work, and your polish must be a certain thickness to achieve a full solid image. Best tip I've had so far is to open the bottle and pull the brush straight out, if the entire brush is covered and you can't see the black bristles through the polish then you're onto a winner. Of course MoYou London do their own stamping polishes which I may investigate next...

You can purchase MoYou London stamping gear here, with plates starting from £4.99.

What about you guys? Ever tried stamping? Anything you can recommend?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-70260045366986031522016-01-17T08:59:00.000-08:002016-01-17T08:59:01.799-08:00NPW does Owl Hand CreamHello all! Today I bring you an owl. No, seriously look at this thing! It's so cute. A Christmas gift from one of my work friends, I can't help but find it adorable.

The different colours indicate the different scents, with purple representing Lavender (I have seen the all gold creme brulee and I want it bad).

The thing that surprised me the most was the weight of this, I expected it to be so much heavier. It's nice that it's so light; makes popping it into a bag easy and you can just carry this cutie round all day without hassle.

The actual cream is a standard affair, hidden in a small pot under the head (given the size of owl I thought it was going to deeper). Non-greasy and a fairly strong scent, it does soften the skin as expected and would work equally as well as an all over moisturiser. The lavender isn't overly floral, more herby than anything else, and doesn't overpower when on the skin.

The main appeal is the owl shaped casing, because heck that thing is cute, and I can attest that it does make a nice gift to those who either love owls and/or cute things.

Now I have seen these in Pylones stores, but I cannot find them on their website nor do I have an exact price (I think about £6?). Amazon seems to have some too, so your best bet might be to Google npw Owl Hand Cream if you find yourself desperately craving an owl shaped fix (and how could you not?).Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-14519968388699887752016-01-13T06:08:00.001-08:002016-01-13T06:08:05.793-08:00Lush does Valentines 2016Hello all! Today I bring you the brand spanking new Lush Valentines collection freshly purchased from Lush Cambridge. I have three bits from the collection, as I missed out on the Lover Lamp bath bomb due to it already being sold out!

Lookit those pretties! I'm curious to see a lot more shower creams hitting the market, and pleasantly surprised by them.

Prince Charming is a scent we've seen previously, but not as a shower cream. Super sweet, but not in the same way as your Snow Fairy, I've found that the shower cream packs a stronger scent than the previous gel with the added bonus of feeling more nourishing to my skin. I'll admit I was expecting much more of icecream kinda smell from this, with much more of the Vanilla coming through, instead you get a very deep fruity scent. Much more sorbet than icecream, but still very yummy. At £4.95 for a 100 bottle, it doesn't break the bank for those craving a Lush treat for the shower.

Forgive me whilst I mutilate a popular quote: It's so shiny I'm gonna die! I'm assured that no unicorns were harmed in the production of The Unicorn Horn, but just look at that thing! Glitter, pastels, and rainbows all wrapped up in a perfect swirl. My biggest surprise with this was how it smelt, I was expecting Candy Mountain candyfloss and sugar, instead I got floral. A very delicate lavender scent has filled my bathroom, and I can't help but feel seriously relaxed. Now my understanding is that this is a redo of last year's Unicorn Horn, primarily lacking in those little stars and it's a lot better put together in my opinion. The colours meld together better, and the amount of bubbles you get from crumbling it under the tap has also improved. One other quirk is that water is now more pink than last year. So if you desire flowery unicorn joy in your bath then for £4.25 you can have it!

#They're painting the roses red#
Those who love Alice in Wonderland get yourself down to Lush and grab one of these cuties. Roses All The Way is a rose scented soap, (and not in the same way as those little old lady ones), inspired by the scene where the playing cards are painting the roses in the garden for the Queen of Hearts. It doesn't quite smell of Rose Jam, but you're on the right lines. It's a creamy cleansing beauty, and I love the whimsy of it. Especially the presentation instore with them all sitting in their big green soap "bush" ready to be plucked. At £4.25 per 100 (each rose is 100g) you can enjoy a little touch of Wonderland.

Undoubtedly I will grab a Lover Lamp and put up a review when I do, but for now enjoy Lush Valentines 2016!Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-39854153643454171602016-01-12T12:16:00.001-08:002016-01-12T12:17:00.606-08:00Twig + Dot Candles: a soy delight.Hello all! Today I shake off the Christmas dust that develops here, and restart blogging fresh. I won't make a resolution to improve my blogging frequency, because realistically I will let myself down, as life in retail gets hectic. Anyways! Candles!

Now today I bring you some very lovely little candles from Twig + Dot.

I'll be telling you about two of these four, as the other two seem to be discontinued now (shame as they were lovely!).

Twig + Dot are a small batch British candle company, very proudly stating that each candle, with its mix of soy and mineral wax, is hand poured in Great Britain. Essential oils provide the delicate scents, and for such a small company they're doing rather well. My favourite little quirk of theirs is the ability to sample the scents before you dive into a larger candle. Now, the scents themselves:

Cinder + Smoke is a deep scent, mostly encompassing, as the name suggests, a smokey element tempered by lavender and earthy tones. I love this as a rich scent, and it fills a room with a warming smell reminiscent of bonfires on late summer evenings. It was far more floral than I expected, but not spring fresh florals, instead think more heady sexy flowers and you're there. Perfect for a quiet night in this time of year. I will also note here how much I like the presentation of these candles, the clean look should fit nicely in any home and I find the little white jars quite stylish.

Clean Slate is right at the other end of the spectrum; light florals with a hint of rain, I find this perfect during the day. This is one for those who enjoy an aquatic element in their perfume, and who love irises. Seriously, that smell of freshly rained on irises pervades like nothing else I own, I adore it.

Twig + Dot have done an amazing job with these candles, and I can't fault the sophisticated air that they invoke. Grown up scents in beautiful presentation is always a win, no tins in sight for these guys!

And now the prices, would you believe me if I said that each votive here only cost me £3? I know right. Once you've decided on which scent you adore the most then you can get a 230g jar (which will, according to their website, burn for 30/40 hours) for just £16. I received a little set of taster wax melts with my order too which was a nice touch.

You can buy Twig + Dot here, and I highly encourage you to do so!Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-61927906297755509832015-11-25T05:01:00.000-08:002015-11-25T05:40:26.601-08:00Body Shop does Christmas 2015Hello all! Today I bring you more Christmas, courtesy of The Body Shop. Whilst I've focused on the Christmas newness, there are plenty of gift sets available for every price range across what seems to be every product they currently stock. And now on to my little selection!

Despite massive temptation, I didn't grab everything from the new Christmas release, just my favourite bits. There is an extensive range from classic body butters and shower gels, to shimmer scents and bath fizzers, and all at a fairly reasonable price.

I'll start with my little Glazed Apple set, since for only £8 it was a Christmas bargain. Included is a mini 50ml body butter and shower gel, and a little shower pouffe. The smell is oh so yummy; a crisp green apple freshness tempered by sweet vanilla tones. It's not fruity, and it's not sickly, it reminds me of toffee apples but without the cinnamon.

As always with Body Shop body butters the texture is smooth and light, with barely a hint of greasy residue. If you're looking for a secret Santa gift this would be in my top five recommendations.

This is my favourite scent in the range, fruity and rich; I've received plenty of queries about what my new perfume is! The surprise when I explain it's just my hand cream is amusing. For £4 you can grab a tube of Frosted Plum for yourself and marvel at an atypical Christmas scent. I had anticipated sugar plum, but this is much deeper and lacks the sugary sweetness. It feels more grown up than the rest of the Christmas range, and I can see myself going back for more. After use my hands do feel nourished, and very soft, a plus in this bitter weather we're experiencing right now.

Lastly I have Frosted Cranberry bath fizzers. Cranberry is one of those scents that only seems to appear after Pumpkin Spice has finished, one that we don't immediately associate with Christmas but it's always there. The Body Shop have embraced this whole heartedly, and included some curious additions to the range. I honestly don't remember the last time I saw Body Shop bath fizzers, and the little pink cubes remind me heavily of Turkish delight. As for the scent, there's certainly a strong sweet fruity element, and there are plenty who will love it. I however am not included in that group. It was the oddity of these that made me pick them up, but I find the scent too powerful for my delicate nose, but don't let that put you off if you love a robust fruity scent in your life.
As for the fizzing...well it turned my bath baby pink straight away, but no bubbles to speak of.

So that's the three new Christmas scents from The Body Shop this year! My stand out favourite is Frosted Plum, but I can see many people loving all three. You can find the entire selection here starting at around £3.

What about you guys? Is it still too soon for Christmas? Or do you embrace the season with open arms no matter when it appears?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-35585842134650353902015-11-23T13:32:00.000-08:002015-11-24T14:00:48.605-08:00Christmas by Guerlain 2015Hello all! Today I bring you a snowball and some snowflakes, courtesy of Guerlain. I know it's still not December, but this collection has been incredibly popular and I suspect it might be slightly hard to come by now.

I am of course referring to Neiges et Merveilles (Otherwise known as Winter Fairytale).
This collection appears to have taken the beauty world by storm, with the coveted jewel in the Crown being the snowball you see above: Météorites Flocons Enchantés.

Make no mistake Guerlain is perhaps a little more pricey than most of us are used to, however this Christmas I'd say it's worth it. For a start just look at the detail in the lid of that delightful snowball, which is perfectly hung inside the demi-sphere that forms the lid of the box (yes, that's a box). And contained within are tiny treasures.

Those familiar with Guerlain Météorites will know the light defying properties of those little balls, those who aren't then when I say these produce a glow like no other I am not exaggerating. Fans of the strobing trend will adore these little pearls. My favourite bit, the stars. Oh my god the stars. Okay they're supposed to be snowflakes, and if you want an intense highlight you can crush one up, but they're so pretty as little stars.

The other thing I loved about this was the tiny powder puff and hidden mirror inside the lid. The powder puff added a touch of traditional glamour to my night stand, though I find myself preferring to use a fluffy brush for application instead. I cannot find a fault with this product at all, except that I wished there were more Météorites contained within, and I shall treasure this until it runs dry.

The other delight I picked up whilst I could was Rouge de Guerlain in Merveilleux Rose, and I couldn't be happier that I did. I was told by the petite french lady serving me that the casing design was created by a french jeweller working with Guerlain this year. It is the pattern you see throughout this collection, and it features on the inside of every box containing a piece of the Neiges et Merveilles collection.

It features the same essential case design as most of the Rouge de Guerlain, where upon opening two mirrors are revealed, and a magnetic closure with the lid. What I will say is that this is not a delicate product, it's heavy as anything and there's no hint of fragility, it's built to last. Again with this kind of craftsmanship comes a higher price tag than most will be used to (averaging at £30 for this particular lipstick), but for something that looks and feels so special I wouldn't hesitate to pay that price.

The colour is exceptionally wearable, for both day and night. A slightly pearlised mid pink, it has an excellent colour pay off and could be layered up for a more intense finish. Me, I'd just wear it as is from the tube and enjoy that freshly kissed look it gives my lips.

So those were my two favourites from Le Neiges et Merveilles Guerlain Christmas collection, and apparently they are the most difficult bits to get hold of currently. I'm not sure if Guerlain is releasing any more units, but by the looks of things what's left is all that's left on beauty counters, so if you spot a lone snowball be sure to grab it sooner rather than later! (Seriously, that snowball is rarer than hen's teeth right now)

You can find some of the collection here. Sadly not all, but some. I adore this collection, and the feeling of old school glamour I get from using it. I get to feel special, and that alone justifies the price in my view.

But what about you guys? Could you justify expensive make-up from the feeling it gives you? Or does it have to be something else that makes you willing to pay that little bit more for something in particular?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-84777204536355389862015-11-08T13:28:00.001-08:002015-11-08T13:38:10.107-08:00Lush does Christmas 2015!Hello all! Today I bring you Christmas, courtesy of Lush. I know it's only November, but you tend to find that the really good bits of the Lush Christmas stuff sell out rather fast.

I hasten to add that this isn't everything, (not made of money), and there are some repromotes this year. All in all it's a great collection, and there is something for everyone in it.

First up is my absolute favourite bit from this year The Magic of Christmas bubble wand. Holy Duck I cannot get enough of this scent! For those of you who adored Hot Toddy last year (as I did), but were sad to not see a repeat this year, then this might just make up for it. Spicy sweet, and packed full of cinnamon and clove goodness, you can reuse this wand time and time again. It's a stunner too, with that shimmery gold finish and a proper cinnamon stick handle.
Grab these quick, because I foresee this being a top choice for Christmas gifters. Especially at a stocking filler price of £5.95!

And who's this? Why it's Peeping Santa! A little bubble bar, very similar to the bubbleroons we've seen from Lush in recent times. Mine is missing the tip of his little Santa hat, and his sparkly strawberry flakes, but he still released a powerful strawberry and vanilla scent when he met my bath water. Interesting note he did turn my bath water bright red. At £3.95 it's not a massive expense to have Santa under your tree and in your bath!

Ah Yog Nog soap. I loved you last year, I love you this year. The creme brulee scent is the same as last year, the formula is even creamier. A dream to wash with, I feel rather pampered whenever I use this and my poor tortured winter skin loves me for the buttery softening texture.

Snow Fairy is back! Grab the big bottles whilst you can this stuff is the perpetual Lush Christmas favourite. What's a little different this year is that the glitter is holo blue as opposed to silvery as in previous years, but the candyfloss scent remains as delicious as the day I first tried it. You'll find a whole host of Snow Fairy scented products this year, including Candy Mountain (a repromote from last year), and a Magic Wand. Long live the Snow Fairy, she's here to stay!

I'm still undecided on Shower Jellies. The texture confuses me greatly and I just can't keep a hold on them whilst in the shower. I'll make the effort for this though. Crisp apple scent in bright red jelly? Yes please! And yes Santa's Belly does wobble like the old rhyme said.

I'm told popping it in the freezer and then using makes it an even better treat, and helps to intensify the smell. What excites me the most is what is hidden at the bottom as a Christmas surprise...

Hello hidden star glitter! Why yes I am a big child when it comes to stars and glitter, and seeing this combines both, you can imagine how I squealed. You can grab a mini pot of Santa's Belly for just £3.95 and enjoy to your heart's content.

So that's my Lush Christmas haul! What I love most is that these make wonderful little gifts for people, either as secret santa presents, or stocking fillers, or just as that little something extra. If you want to give a bigger present then you can just scale them up too, particularly with the soaps and shower bits.

You can find the entire Lush Christmas collection here, and there is a lot of it! As I said though, you might have to grab it fast before it's gone.

So what about you guys? What have you loved from this year's Lush collection? Is it too early to talk about Christmas still?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-89615062490371998482015-10-30T01:48:00.001-07:002015-10-30T04:16:37.491-07:00Bomb has me Incensed!Hello all! Today I bring you a gift from my sister. I don't often say this, but my sister is rather awesome. Having earnt herself the position of head of HR for a Yankee Candle distributer, and passing her driving test first time, she's doing rather well. Anyways, she sent me a delightful Bomb Cosmetics bath blaster called Incense and Sensibility.

I needn't hark on about my love for Bomb Cosmetics as I have done on many occasions but for those just dropping in they are an organic handmade brand specialising in the whimsical. Not to mention they're rather good value for money.

This smelt lovely from the moment I opened it, I think patchouli is fast becoming my favourite scent next to vanilla. That sweet spice is just yummy. This features essential oils of both the aforementioned patchouli, and Ylang Ylang to simultaneously scent the bath and soften your skin.

What amused me about this were the curious little jellies in the top of the blue froth.

They seem to what contains a large amount of the essential oils and take far longer to melt into your bath than the rest of the blaster. I also think they're what turns the bath water bright fuschia.

I will say don't expect bubbles from this one, yes there's a fizz but nothing spectacular I'm afraid. The fizz is all the good stuff releasing into the bath water and then settling.

Turns out The Boy quite likes this one too, because the scent isn't too heady, and he's getting used to the strange coloured baths.

So a thumbs up for this blaster!

What about you guys? Any Bomb fans out there? Can anyone recommend anything else with Patchouli in it?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-74257191086542665552015-10-19T11:19:00.000-07:002015-10-19T11:21:44.582-07:00Lush went batty for Halloween Hello all! Today I bring you a bat! A really limey bat. I finally got Nightwing ^-^

Lush Halloween this year has been fun, and this is no exception.
I've never used a shower jelly before, so this was an experience. A very slippery experience.

First thing that hits you as soon as you open the tub is not just the strange spikes, but the smell. Wow that smell! So much lime. The only thing I can compare it to are Rowntree's Fruit Gums. The Aloe Vera doesn't come through if I'm honest, as that fresh lime smell is so over powering. It'll certainly wake you up in the morning! It made my bathroom a (Blud)haven of citrus freshness, without smelling like cleaning products.

Those who enjoy Halloween will get a kick out of Nightwing's bat shape, although mine appears to have a had a few too many bugs for tea. I've found that it retains the shape better in you pop it in the fridge between showers. Mr Freeze highly recommends putting your bat on ice...

It does leave a purple reside on the side of the bath, so a soap dish is highly recommended for those who dislike continually scrubbing...

And I geeked out at the name quite a lot.

So if you feel the need for a fresh citrus blast in the shape of an oh so spooky bat then you can grab it here for £3.95.

What about you guys Have you used shower jellies before? And what do you think of my chubby Lush bat?

Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-58387950157599864062015-10-17T14:37:00.001-07:002015-10-17T14:44:11.428-07:00I feel spooky, oh so spookyHello all! Today I bring you two Halloween themed candles from Yankee Candle. Now fair warning, they are repromotes, it seems Halloween scents are in decline. So without further ado, I bring you Candy Corn and Witches Brew!

Very spooky.

Witches Brew has to be my favourite of these two; a spicy sweet patchouli, (very very similar in fact to Lord of Misrule from Lush ). I cannot get enough of this scent, and to top it off it wasn't unpleasant to The Boy either. Only problem was that the scent didn't really throw. We had all the doors in the new flat open, as we're still unpacking and setting up, and I could only smell it when I re-entered the room it was burning in. Such a shame for such a delicious rich scent.

No such problem for Candy Corn. That sugary sweet smell got everywhere... and whilst I didn't love it, (way too sickly sweet for me, I like my scents a bit more earthy or spicy), I know there are those who adore the smell of sweets. Not quite as "cakey" as some of their other sweet offerings, it features more of a caramel scent and does remind me very specifically of Candy Corn. If you're having pumpkins, pop it inside one for an interesting scent combination.

A touch of fun with Witches Brew is the pure black of the candle wax, which when it melts looks suitably creepy when gathering in a bowl.

You can find both candles at any Yankee Candle retailer right now including Clinton Cards, and Boots. Or you can buy direct from Yankee Candle Here. The little votives I've got usually retail for £1.80.

So what about you guys? Are you glad to see these back again? Or would you have preferred something new for Halloween this year?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-29608539612872472242015-10-05T14:07:00.000-07:002015-10-05T14:52:27.430-07:00Halloween Shower Scream QueenHello all! Today I bring you a Halloween goodie from Lush. A little secret about me, I love Halloween! The silly spookiness, the dressing up, and the goodies! Now Lush does an amazing Halloween release every year (Sootballs still remain my top Halloween product though), and this year is no exception.

You'll have to bear with me in regards to images, just moved into the new flat with The Boy and we're still unpacking.

Those of you familiar with Lush should know the Lord of Misrule bath bomb, well now you can buy it as a shower gel! With a more peppery scent, and a wheatgerm base, this creamy offering is a green sparkly gem. It comes out so green! Afterwards my skin is soft and moisturised, with that slight masculine pepper fragrance. Basically I love it.

A mix of patchouli, peppercorn, black pepper and Fair trade vanilla give this a curious infusion of freshness mixed with earthy spice. Think Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir without the fruity element, and you're not too far off. Vitamin E from the previously mentioned wheatgerm gives this such a creamy texture, and your stressed out skin will thank you for it. Oh and the micro sparkles! Did I mention the pretty little sparkles in my green goo?

This is one of four bathing products released this Halloween. The other three include a shower bat jelly (watch this space!), a sparkly pumpkin bath melt (a repromote from years gone by), and the ever present Lord of Misrule bath bomb. Also included are a really pretty pink and purple bat themed knot wrap, and two gift balls in the shape of a pumpkin and a bat. A word of warning, unless you really really want the outer ball, it's actually cheaper to buy the products individually!

So thank you Lush for keeping my Halloween suitably spooky, and wonderfully fresh. If you want to grab these limited edition bits then you can find them from here.

What about you guys? What do you love about this time of year? Do you enjoy Halloween as much as I do?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-30174063378587240902015-09-23T13:09:00.002-07:002015-09-23T13:12:06.072-07:00Kiko does Rebel RomanceHello all! Today I bring you two bits from the new Kiko Rebel Romantic collection. A very strong collection from an affordable brand that is clearly stepping up their game. Very moody nineties inspired, with mossy jewel tones and strong lip colours, this is sure to impress.

Check out that gorgeous art deco inspired packaging! Those colours are stunning, and the finish all feels very luxe, and rather upmarket. Once you get inside this luxurious look doesn't stop, with a metallic finish to both the lip-liner and the eyeshadow casing.

The ever popular rose gold features everywhere in this collection, and can be seen on the lid and detailing of this Intensely Lavish Lip Liner. I grabbed shade 05 Heavy Cherry, as I was seriously lacking an oh so on trend berry coloured lip liner for this fall.

Honestly, it goes on okay; slight pulling but my lips are having a stressed out time at the minute. Don't try to use it as a matte lip crayon, definitely not designed for that, but as a liner it works well enough. Brilliant colour payoff, and a decent wear time (5 hours, with food and drinks). Do I love it? Ehhh, but for £4.90 I could grow to.

And now we have the Metallic Shine Eyeshadow. I adore this; from the detailed glass pot to the creamy powder finish. If I could have grabbed all of them I would, but instead I picked 06 Dynamic Taupe.

A shimmery silvery dirty platinum, it's perfect for creating an easy evening look without going overboard. Rock it with a black eyeliner and that berry lip and you're ready to go. The formula is divine, soft and light, but you do need a little more on your brush than you might expect for a fuller colour impact. For just a little pearly sheen, swipe a single layer over the lid and enjoy. I adore it, and at £6.90 it's not overpriced at all.

So those were my two indulgences from Kiko, plus one other absolute bargain I'll be coming back to later (dragon's blood nail polish, hello!). I've heard many good things about Kiko, plus some bad if im honest, and it looks like the company are taking all their feedback to heart. If this collection is anything to go by I expect great things in the future (but hopefully with the same prices!). You can grab Rebel Romantic here, and prices start at £4.90.

What about you guys? What are your experiences with Kiko? Do you think they've improved?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-49984722974997813262015-09-17T02:33:00.000-07:002015-09-17T02:33:17.488-07:00A Rainy day manicure Hello all! Today I bring you a manicure inspired by the current weather we're enjoying here in the UK.

Yep, it's been raining...

Now I do have to apologise for the quality of the photos in this post. Currently moving in with The Boy, and I don't have access to my usual bits and bobs, so making do for now. Anyways! Manicure!

So I used an odd collection of polishes for this result, starting from the left we have:

Peace, Love and OPI by OPI
Morning Dew by Ciaté
My Silk Tie by OPI
Spun Sugar by Revlon
Snow Globetrotter by OPI
And of course Seche Vite!

I will never stop loving Peace, Love and OPI, sadly discontinued now (it was from the amazing San Francisco collection), with it's purple/grey/green/pink shimmer and two coat perfect finish. Is it my favourite polish? Not quite, but it is way up there!

Morning Dew was a pleasant surprise; bluey grey with a pink micro shimmer, I was expecting to go eh at it. However being a Ciaté it requires 3-4 layers for a true opaque finish and wow do those layers make a difference! Suddenly it has some depth, I almost didn't want to put anything on top of it.

But I did! Snow Globetrotter, how I adore you. I can't wait to find an excuse to use this one again; multi-sized white, silver, and holo glitter in a shimmery clear base came out looking oh so right for my "rain". During winter I'm sure this will make a perfect snow too.

Then came the clouds, and my downer out of this lot. My Silk Tie...urgh. From the 50 shades of Grey collection, it's a streaky hard to work with silver. No love here, not even micro shimmer can convince me to like it! So I went over my silver lining with infinitely more enjoyable Spun Sugar from Revlon. Satin finish and no streaks from a simple silver, so much better!

And there you have it, one rainy day manicure to make me smile. The photos really don't do Snow Globetrotter justice for just how fun that glitter is.

What about you guys? Any rainy day manicures you've loved? What about other weather inspired nails?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-43668597815955495132015-09-09T13:46:00.001-07:002015-09-09T13:46:07.673-07:00Bath Tea?!Hello all! Today I bring you a rather curious thing; bit behind the times but Body Shop did a collection called Fuji Green Tea, and one particular item caught my attention. You guessed it, Bath Tea!

What on earth is Bath Tea I hear you cry? Well it's not quite as it sounds; don't think as I did that the sweet little caddy tin is full of nothing but Fuji Green Tea leaves. It's a mixture of salts with a sprinkling of tea leaves thrown in. Hate to say it...but I was disappointed by this, but hey bath salts aren't a terrible thing and the smell was rather pleasant in the caddy. Warning you now a little does not go a long way with this product, as the salts melt away like lightening, leaving the sparse leaf debris to float around and cling to the bath sides, and you...

Now the eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted an odd looking mesh thing in the images thus far. This is the recommended method of using the Bath Tea: an infuser, specially supplied (for an extra cost, naturally) by The Body Shop for your bath. It did reduce mess in a huge way, but was it worth the grand sum of £5? Honestly...probably not. There is a long chain with a hook on the end attached, however what this is supposed to hook on I do not know. There was nothing feasible to hook it onto that allowed it to sit in the bath water and infuse away, the chain is simply too short and the hook a silly small shape. In the end I just held it there.

So we come to the bathing experience! Well it was...pungent to say the least. I don't know if you need to wash the infuser before use, or if I've got a bad batch of tea, but wow this was astringent. My eyes were watering before I even got in the bath! I've read in a great many places how relaxing the smell is and how clean and energised people have felt after. Me? I spent ten minutes in it and called it there, as the smell was just too overpowering.

I'm very sad to say my Fuji Green Tea bath experience was not a pleasant one: the amount of salts required seems excessive, the infuser didn't really seem to have a massive purpose, and the harsh smell was just too much. I loved the idea, and the rest of the range smells unbelievably good (I can highly highly recommend the body butter), but this was a disappointment all round. I'm going to give it another run, who knows it might have been a first time hiccup, but I'll not hold my breath.

I picked my batch up at the airport, but you can find it here for £12, and the infuser here for a fiver.

What about you guys? Have you tried it? Have I just got a dodgy batch, or is it the infuser creating the weird smell?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-71553981595455549062015-09-07T08:40:00.001-07:002015-09-07T08:48:00.861-07:00Experimenting with The BoyMwah-hahaha! So today I bring you a rather sinister/naughty (whatever floats your boat) sounding title and a lovely bath bomb from Lush! I present The Experimenter!

Gotta say, having seen this on the Lush website I thought the colour sections would have been less...blocky, but ah well. Look at all those colours! Pink, electric blue, white, yellow, and a purple macaroon-esque centre. I knew this was going to be special before I popped it in.

The smell is wonderful; using Lush's now famous fair trade vanilla, and tonka extract you get a warming scent escaping from this brightly coloured beauty. And that scent gets better once it hits running water.

The lady in Lush advised me to pop The Experimenter yellow/white side down in the bath and then start running the water to get the best show. I did as advised and what a fun thing it was to watch! Despite The Boy insisting that the yellow looked toxic it gave the best result to watch the rest of the colours explode across the water. This bath bomb contains not only masses of colour, but popping candy, and glitter to boot, so expect a cacophony of bath joy...until the blue gets going.

What was bright and exciting has turned to...well green. Shimmery amazing smelling green, don't get me wrong, but murky green all the same. Much better than the brown The Boy insisted it would be, but still kinda dingy. With that many colours packed into one bomb it is kinda expected, and watching them all release was great fun, so I can't turn up my nose too much at the final colour result, but safe to say I did wonder how clean I was going be once I got out of said green bath...

But clean I did emerge! And soft too. And with only a smattering of glitter attached to The Boy and I. The formula is seriously moisturising; my skin felt amazing, baby soft and smooth. All in all a success!

If you're in the mood for a bathroom show you can purchase The Experimenter here. At £3.95 it won't break your bank for something to brighten the end of your day; just be prepared for green! For best results, do as the Lush lady said, place white side down first and watch the party begin.

How about you guys? Any colour bombs you can recommend? Or do all of them tend to end up a murky mess by the end?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-62593551821846557562015-08-29T06:08:00.001-07:002015-08-29T06:08:45.867-07:00Nars takes me to a Parallel Universe Hello all! So house hunting is hard, and the property market moves far too fast. Any tips out there for a busy busy girl trying to find a nice apartment? :/ Anyways! Today I bring a delight from Nars and their collaboration with Christopher Lane, otherwise known as NeoNeutral.

Gotta say, a younger version of me would have been all over this collection with its bright blushers and look at me lip colours combined with quieter notes to bring out those loud colour pops. Yet as an older working type I find myself more inclined towards the softer shades that aren't quite so graphic but have a delightful shimmer, such as this little duo called Parallel Universe.

Hello shimmery lilac and beige! Also the size of these are fab; I was expecting dinky little pots so was pleasantly surprised. Love the quality of Nars packaging too, sturdy with a massive mirror and the rubberised finish feels awesome.

Look at all that shimmer! It glides on beautifully, and the texture is so very very silky. The pinky purple isn't quite as in your face as it appears there, and both of these even out well. If you want more of an impact then I'd advise layering them up, but if you're after subtle they're a brilliant little fixer.

The colours are super feminine, yet with the added shimmer I feel like these are very wearable as both day and night shadows, if used correctly.

You can pick up this little duo here for £25. Not bad given that NARS are giving away a free mascara with purchases over £50 at the minute!

So what about you guys? How do you feel about bright colours in your make up? Do you reach a certain age where it isn't appropriate anymore?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-25515650292847526792015-08-07T04:45:00.000-07:002015-08-07T04:47:10.058-07:00The candle that smells of...nothing?Hello all, many exciting things happening in my world atm including moving job and house! So today (after many weeks delay) I bring you a candle from Kew Gardens. A lovely light summery Freesia and Pear offering in a pretty tin packet...

At least that's what I thought I was getting.

Yes, the tin is pretty and would sit nicely in most living rooms or bedrooms, (wouldn't recommend it for the bathroom, the papery bits got soggy).

The candle itself is pure soy, made in the UK, and is scented with essential oils. The Kew Gardens range is supposed to evoke the scents of the Royal Botanical Gardens in London by using natural oils and other good things. Which it does, until you light it...
In the unlit tin it smells delicate and bright, and I was excited to have a room reminding me of summer florals. Only problem is when you light said candle there is no scent! I thought this was just me, so I asked The Boy his opinion and he concurred, the candle smells of nothing.

One other annoyance is that despite correct candle care (trimming the wick etc) it burns quite smokey, especially when first lit and after being extinguished.

It does last for ages though; Kew Gardens reckon it's a 40 hour burner, I'd be more inclined to pop it at 65/70 hours. So at least there's some value there.

So I'm afraid to say that I was rather disappointed by this purchase. It might just be my candle, but having scoured the reviews of other Kew Garden tins I don't seem to be alone in my lack of scent issue.

Should you wish to give a go, you can find it here at £10.

What about you guys? Any surprisingly scentless candles? Is there anything I can do to improve the scent?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-39377686191358241522015-07-16T06:22:00.000-07:002015-07-16T06:32:07.753-07:00Cowshed for the Sleepy CowHello all! Today I put the overseas editions on hold, (there's at least three more, including some Spanish products), to bring you a restful night's sleep courtesy of Cowshed.

Now I've been struggling to get a good night's sleep for ages, and I utterly blame The Boy for this... Not once has he whacked me in the face, elbowed me in the head, talked at me etc. So in my John Lewis splurge I thought we'd give this a try, seeing as both myself and The Boy quite enjoy a bath.

For a start I cannot get over how delicious this smells; a lemon sherbety calming kinda scent that you can't help but go ooooo at. And that was before I even popped it in the bath!

I'm a touch of a packaging diva and I loved how robust this felt and the inner lid is a brilliant thing for travelling with it. I like the soft blue and starry skies on the label, and got excited about my potential decent sleep before I even popped the lid!

Texture wise it's very fine, almost like caster sugar, and can get a bit messy that intial opening. I used about 3/4 heaped tablespoons of the stuff, but I forsee this lasting a while as the fine nature of it has it packed tight in there.

Now if like me you've never used bath salts before don't expect bubbles, and don't open your mouth near the water... in hindsight the word salt should have given me an indication that this stuff does not taste good in water. Last time I have a conversation with just my nose poking out... All the salt dissolves without leaving a residue too, great if, as I do,you prefer your fiction gritty, not your bath.

Did it help us sleep better? Eeeeh, jury is still out on that one. It did smell lovely, and it was really relaxing, but The Boy continues to disturb my rest so I'll keep you posted. Did make my skin feel pampered though, thanks to the vitamin E its got going on.

At £16 for 300g you can find it here, or at John Lewis.

What about you guys? Any sleep solutions you can recommend?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-72843702552946697802015-07-14T13:50:00.001-07:002015-07-16T06:28:18.598-07:00Overseas Edition: Burts and the BeesForgive me for the sporadic posting lately; couple of health issues cropped up these past three weeks. Anyways! Still on the bits I picked up whilst away I bring a lovely little product from Burt's Bees.

Sadly Burton Shavitz, one of the founders of Burt's Bees, has died recently, and I hope that even without his guiding hand the company continue in the manner they always have done. Their products are lovely, and the homely aspect to them is a delight.

This Lip Shimmer is no exception. I picked out the Watermelon, but it is available in range of colours to suit all; what I will say is that it is lighter than you expect and quite sheer. Stronger in colour than their lip balms, and smoother in consistency than their gloss options, this non-greasy moisturising little stick is pretty addition to my make-up bag.

There is, as the name suggests, a shimmer to these making them perfect for holiday day to night wear. I was rocking this colour on the beach with my kaftan and bikini, then reapplying a few extra layers for my evenings out on the dockside.

Nowhere near as dark and plummy as the stick suggests, Watermelon is more a rosy metallic pink that compliments those with both fair and tanned skin. If you're looking for a little something to highlight your lip's natural colour this is a great option, that you can layer up for a deeper colour impact.

100% natural, and made with a huge amount of plant and fruit oils as well as, of course, bee's wax, all contributing to wonderfully soft lips despite the blazing sun. There is a tingle when you apply, as well as a peppermint scent, which felt refreshing with each application. (Always a plus in Spanish heat I tell you now!)

At £5.99 it's a steal, especially as a lighter option than lipstick. You can find it here, (although I know John Lewis are running low on their online stock).

What about you guys? Have you tried any Burt's Bees products previously? What's your favourite lipstick alternative?

Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-24422093473639312012015-07-05T05:04:00.000-07:002015-07-05T05:07:08.061-07:00Overseas Edition: Charles Worthington does holiday hairSo I'm no longer in Spain *sad face*, but I'm still going to call this the overseas edition given that they were tested whilst on holiday. So today I bring you Charles Worthington's Sunshine Protection shampoo and Conditioner.

I picked this up in the airport during Boots 3 for 2 on holiday minatures (I needed deodorant, it was there, I thought why not...). Turns out that little whim was a fantastic idea.

Now being on holiday is great for our sense of wellbeing, etc etc, but it is hard on our hair. Salt water, chlorine, sand, drying out in the sunshine, all bad things. What Charles Worthington have done is create a combination to aid your hair recover whilst still enjoying everything your holiday has to offer.

Everyday day my hair turned from crispy to shiny and silky soft, not to mention shiny and manageable. I was seriously impressed with how well it dealt with my dried out beach hair, without leaving it feeling stripped and dry. I was washing it twice a day (I like a swim in the morning, what can I say), and it helped with the potential beach tangles too.

My one issue, and this is probably down to washing twice a day, was that by the end of my two weeks I was out of conditioner. Now my hair is only mid-length, long haired ladies stick to once a day or buy a second bottle to take with.

The packaging is cute to boot, and next time I'm out of the country I will definitely give it a repurchase!

You can find it in Boots in the travel minis section, currently still on 3 for 2 at certain outlets (airport).

What about you guys? What is your favourite hair saving product whilst on holiday? And what about those with coloured hair?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-27872773981708838332015-06-30T04:57:00.000-07:002015-06-30T04:57:03.977-07:00The overseas edition: Face fluid sunscreen by Piz BuinSo I present to you blogging from Spain! This week featuring Face Fluid by Piz Buin. Now I know how important sunscreen is, especially on the delicate facial skin, and yet I've never really used a face specific sunblock.

Normal sunscreen is very heavy and prone to blocking pore leading to breakouts, however spf foundations and bb creams don't quite always cut it, or you can't regularly reapply them.

What we have instead here is Piz Buin's Face Fluid, a very lightweight SPF30 sunscreen that soaks in without blocking pores.

The formula is very liquid, but this serves to let it sink in much easier. An odd surprise was the pleasant scent and the easy to apply nozzle. You don't need much, as a little goes a long way, and the nozzle allows you to control how much you squeeze out.

You don't just have to put it on your face either, I found this was perfect for my shoulders and neck. Perfectly the small size meant I could take it everywhere with me, in my hand luggage and my handbag whilst out and about, and regularly reapply.

Currently on half price at Boots, you can find it here for £6 whilst it's on offer.

What about you guys? What are your sunscreen recommendations? What's the lowest spf you dare to use on your face?

Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-11177237218255487852015-06-26T05:16:00.000-07:002015-06-26T05:16:24.058-07:00Holiday haul! And I'm back from Spain! An amazing time was had, and I managed to achieve vague tanning qualities. I also have loads to review over the coming days/weeks, so here's a quick look at what's up and coming.

There are other bits coming up too, including bath tea! (I'm far too excited about this concept) Also included is some Spanish make up, and sun burnt skin care recommendations. Oh yeah, I burnt, badly...

Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-57503365319431484622015-06-15T05:27:00.001-07:002015-06-15T05:27:08.347-07:00Ghosting away the SummerHello all! Today I'm bringing you my summer scent, Ghost Eclipse. A lovely fruity/floral light perfume which reminds me of long hazy warm summer days.

I do so love that bottle, everytime I see it I think of summer with that golden ombre sunset.

Ghost have a good line-up of everyday fragrances, and seem to have something for almost every preference. Normally I like a more masculine spice to my scent, but this is so warming I do enjoy it during the summer months.

To me it smells like warm skin that's been out in the sun, combined with a citrus fruity element, (much like a good cocktail on the beach!). It is a lighter scent, and won't last all day, but at £16.49 (here) ,[normally £25 for the 30ml set], you don't mind so much. Using as a set with the body lotion does make the scent last that bit longer too.

The bottle size at 30ml means you can throw it into your summer bag, and top up whenever you want to. Seriously handy if you're looking for a mini-break hand luggage fragrance.

What about you guys? Do you have your own signature summer scents? Or do you change them year on year with each new launch?

Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-52121797719610025392015-06-12T06:42:00.001-07:002015-06-12T07:30:09.709-07:00How very Italian!Hello all! Today I bring a slightly scuffed spicy red lipstick that has lived in my beauty box for far too long and yet not been touched; Dolce & Gabbana Italian Monica.

Trust me the packaging used to be gorgeous. Now this lipstick collection was inspired by the fabulous Monica Bellucci, of soon to be Bond Woman fame and international sex symbol, and if there is one lipstick that screams confident sexuality it is this one.

You want pillar box red colour with high pigment and an elegant shine? Voila, Italian Monica is your girl.
That colour doesn't fade ladies and gentlemen. However it does bleed...but a good lip liner will sort that out for you, and with these high impact reds you should be using one anyway. I recommend Urban Decay Ozone, as I like my liner to be secondary to my lipstick, but any good quality red should suit.

What I do love is the glamorous feel to the packaging, that gold case and the D&G imprinted into the lipstick all come together to create an iconic luxury that makes you feel special.

The formula is great, creamy and high impact. Touch drying though, and that was why I put it aside. I'm not great with the remove/balm/reapply regime I'll admit. I like my lipstick to stay where it is all day.

So if you want to feel a bit sexy, or channel your inner Italian Bond Woman then you can find it here, or at the counter in Harrods (if you're down that way).
So what about you guys? How do you feel about hot reds? And what's your go to sexy lipstick?Ittybittyprettykittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04965778353221819345noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7748725160683709277.post-74421734706080000772015-06-09T11:43:00.002-07:002015-06-09T11:43:37.784-07:00The saviour of the clumsy nail artist by Barry MHello all! You'll have to bear with me, things are a bit manic with planning for holiday, hen days, and work being work, so I might go a touch quiet every so often. So today I bring you an offering from Barry M!

Now I am a clumsy nail artist, I hold my hands up and confess my faults. I'm terrible at keeping my edges clean, and I always mess up my right hand in one way or another. Sound familiar? Fear not! Barry M have your back.

With their Nail Paint Corrector Pen it does pretty much what it says. It's perfect for cleaning those overspill, without taking a chunk of polish with it like cotton buds can do. The angled tip is great for accuracy and shaping, and Barry M have been kind enough to supply two extra tips!

Acetone free, the blurb says it is supposed to smell of melon...let's just say I hope I never have to eat the melon they based that scent off.

Now it can drag if you're trying to remove a thicker polish, and you can't really use it whilst the polish is wet/tacky, but it makes for a good post clean up just to neaten off the edges.

At £4.99 it's a neat little tool to have, particularly if you've not quite mastered that perfect single sweep yet. You can find it here or at most drugstore cosmetic retailers.
