If the Shu fits...

So the boy treated me to a final post Christmas present, from Harrods no less! Squeeeee. Now as the viewing public may know, I'm a touch obsessed with the 6 Heart Princess line from Shu Uemura and these were the final pieces to my mini collection.

Look at that gorgeous packaging!

May your Valentine be Lush

So the happy heart day approaches, and like most holidays I'm a bit of a scrooge/grinch/anti-fairy about Valentine's day too. Why should you require a specific day to express your love? Why not spend everyday doing that if you love someone? But anyways, this does mean that we see a whole bunch of limited edition cosmetic items hit the shelves in all loved up colours and themes. Lush is no exception this year, with pink and hearts galore everywhere.
Top tip: Don't expect the staff to know what they have as limited editions, as the team member I spoke to only pointed out one item from the collection to me...
There actually 6 major Valentine releases and 3 themed gift sets and two of their scarf wrappings. I won't go through the whole lot, just brush over the major releases.

Neon Love
According to others there may have ben a bad batch of this on the shelves which simply smelt of cheap plastic soap, as opposed to the strong bergamot scent it's supposed to have. Did smell like spicy ribena in the shop, so they may have solved the problem, but if I'm honest their soap has never thrilled me so I gave it a miss.

Kor that's bright!

As winter shuffles on I find myself looking towards fresh colours and summer brights to perk up my mood in these dark wet months. The Spring 2014 edit from Michael Kors makeup is just the ticket to cure me of my winter blues, look at these lovelies!

Maybelline takes on the street.

So I wander through Superdrug and what catches my eye but the new top coat collection from Maybelline Colour Show. The Street Art collection is bright, eye catching, and funky, and adds an interesting edge to nail art. Glitter and texture top coats haven't really grabbed my attention so far but I couldn't resist spending my reward points on two of these beauties.

Now I get the idea behind these and I love the concept, splattered paint to mess up your manicure for an edgey look, but do they achieve what they set out to do?

Oil Cleansing for the first time, courtesy of Shu Uemura.

So oil cleansing, who has tried it? As a sufferer of oily skin I initially recoiled at the thought of putting any thing oil based on my skin, but Shu Uemura grabbed my attention and having read up on the concept I took advantage of the half price offer I posted a little while back.

I could be a NARSisst...

So I have heard the news that NARS are releasing a special edition palette, potentially to celebrate their 20th anniversary. It seems that the NARS employees have jumped the gun a touch and have been showing off all the loveliness heading our way January 20th!

How much am I loving the good range of colour, and knowing Nars this should be of a decent size. No shout on the price yet, so a spat of saving may have to take place over the next 10 days, because I do not want to let this stunning set slip me by!

Anime eyes are a go!

So sticking with my somewhat tenious theme, I have a lovely offering from Shu Uemura.

This is part of the gorgeous 6 Heart Princess line by Takashi Murakami, a famous Japanese artist who has had past collaborations with the likes of Louis Vitton and similar high end brands. The 6 Heart Princess line from Shu Uemura is linked with Murakami's newest project, an anime highlighting the two natures of young women.

Miss Manga is a Miss miss.

There's a bit of a theme today, a tenious one but it's there. Now I'll admit something, I'm a huge anime fan. This last year I've indulged in more than previously; Attack on Titan, Free, Blue Steel Arpeggio and The Unlimited have all been on my watch list so far. Anyways back to beauty. First up an offering from L'Oreal, Miss Manga mega volume mascara.

Ciaté take my fancy

Can I just sing the praises of TK Maxx just a little here? Two Ciaté ripped to shreds foil manicure kits, but still with the paint pots in at £4 each, and then a freebie paint pot because the guy behind the counter saw I was buying the other two sets and another nail polish bargain of 3 Orly polishes shoved in a bag at £2.99 (pricing mistake on their part but
who am I to argue?!) Yes two of the paint pots are missing their adorable bow but at £8 for the three, with nail wheels and nail effects glue I'm not going to sniff at that. Right onto the actual polishes!

A conditioner that actually delivers!

Now when I say I have fine hair, I mean Russia's moral fiber is thicker than my hair and produces less oil. The other irritating factor is the adaptability of my hair; for years I could use a shampoo for a month before having to switch to a new clarifying concoction. This does add up to a few good points, extremely soft, smooth, straight as a whistle without ever
having used straighteners long boring hair that didnt require conditioner. It was only after I started dying it in my late teens/early twenties that I finally required a conditioning element.   So the battle to find a conditioner that did as promised on the bottle but didn't leave me feeling greasy began. Aussie have become my go to for about a year now, with Timotei Pure coming in a close second. Then on a whim, (mainly because it was on offer...) I gave John Frieda's Luxurious Volume thickening conditioner a whirl.

Kitty gets a little Naked

The title makes this sound more enticing than it is...or does it?
Today we have a piece from the now infamous Urban Decay Naked range; now don't get me wrong I like the natural look just as much as the next lazy professional woman but I do miss the days when nude shades weren't the be all and end all. I liked my Urban Decay bright, velvety and in pots shaped like subway tokens, but hey the world moves on and so do I. That said...I really rather love this little gem.

Urban Decay's Naked Basics double ended 24/7 eye pencil in Crave/Venus. Like all of the

L'Oreal clouds give me a silver lining

I never said my titles would be good...
So I've done perfume, it's now on to nails. First up two from the L'Oreal Color Riche range, Blue Reef and Sublime Platine.

First time posting, so let's hope it's good...

Okay well here we go,
From the wilds of the midlands I bring you a review! On one of my delightful Christmas presents from the boy.
